There are never any dull moments, when it comes to my seven year old son. Just the other morning, while styling his faux hawk, he turns to me with much excitement in his eyes and says:
Son: Mom, you know what I am going to be when I grow up?
Me: No Son, what would you like to be?
Son: A Tattoo Artist.
Me: Oh really, what makes you think you are going to be a tattoo artist?
Son: You Mom, you said I can be what ever I want and that's what I want to be. I am going to have a shop and my cousin(partner in crime) is going to come and work with me.
Me: In order to be a tattoo artist, you should probably learn to draw...
Son: Haven't you seen my smiley faces, they are awesome!
Son: Oh yea and I am getting a piercing...in my ear
Me: You mean an earring?
Son: No Mom, when your a man it's called a piercing (rolling his eyes and shaking his head).
I shared this story with my sister, who's son is part of this Tattoo Shop adventure. She already knew about it and told her son that it was a great idea, but to remember Mommies get all their Tattoo's for FREE!
Lesson Learned: Careful what you tell your children, they will hold you to it!!

Ha! Hopefully, it's a phase :)
If not, maybe he can own a tattoo shop and have a reality show and you can retire and he can take care of you :)
How about mommy's friends? do they get a discount?

That is funny. I like the part about Mommies getting free tattoos.
Yup, nod and smile, nod and smile. No point REALLY making them tattoo artists...not that there is anything wrong with such a trade, of course... :O)

Kids are so crazy. You have to read my post on why 9 year old's should get tattoos that I posted I believe in July. Boys, I don't know abou them!

Well he could specialize in smiley faces.
I love this kid. He's got spunk!
ha ha Love it! My 4 year old wants to be a policeman or a super hero like Ben 10...hmmm!
Fab blog, returning the SITS love!
Have a great day!
Cool kid with artistic mind :) I like how you reacted to him, very cool as didn't suggest, why not a doctor, engineer :)
Well, at least it'd be something new every day! :-) I get tired of being in my office all the time.
You should start a list of all things he wants to be when he's grown up. When he actually does grow up, it will be fun to look back at all the things he's said. :-)
I think that would be awesome!! After a little practice I'll have him give me the peacock feather I want!
just a suggestion - dermatologist
I predict a big future for them in tattoo removal.
i wanted to be a rockstar groupie when i was young. thank god for failed dreams... awesome story, isnt it great you have the opportunity to write it down?
That is so cute. I wonder what he'll want to be next year, lol!
LIOLOL ain't that funny! thanks for passing by..
Oh don't knock it! I knew a guy back in high school, fantastic artist. He got into tattooing since so many of his friends loved his art they wanted him to tattoo it. He now owns his own shop in our hometown and is doing very well for himself apparently!
I love kids' dreams, they really make you want to giggle and yet inspire all at the same time. xx
haha your son sounds like a funny guy. Thanks for stopping by.
ROFL, that's too funny!
